This semi vintage Omega is powered by one of their great mechanical hand winding movements Caliber 269.

A simple stunning and classy watch. A new high quality brown strap has been added. The watch is working exactly as it should.

What sets this apart from your average vintage Omega Seamaster is it was a Special / limited Edition Status to celebrate 100 years of the brands.

From 1994 Omega released a series of special pieces to commemorate 100 years of the brand. This model, simply named the "1894" is one of them. Featuring an 18k Rose Gold case with simple lugs, the 1894 is powered by a simple, hand-cranking Calibre 269 movement, visible through a sapphire display back. While all 1894 models feature a sector dial design with crosshair printing, applied Roman markers, oversized subsidiary seconds register, and gold feuille hands. This particular example was only marketed for the Asian Market, and is further differentiated with a gold and navy blue two-tone design. Other dials were limited to a simpler full champagne / gold dial.

In nearly mint condition, this watch comes accompanied by its original Omega box and warranty / authenticity card.

Omega are known to over market use the word "Limited Editions" however this truly rare piece ticks all of the right boxes - rare, built to high standards and actually a Limited Edition watch Omega should be proud of. Naturally the watch was disconnected over 20 years ago and will make a excellent long term investment or a great watch to keep in the family.

It also benefits from a very early "Sapphire Sandwich" where both the front glass and case back are made from sapphire. This is fairly common now with Speedmaster models but was fairly groundbreaking 20+ years ago. Also known as an "Exhibition" case back its one of those watches you can admire without even using or /and many are keen to show this to other watch enthusiast as its easy on the eye.

The seconds hand sweeps around nicely. It's Mechanical Hand Winding and will require a daily wind if you are planning to use. It will have around 30 hour reserve power- no batteries are ever needed for mechanical watches.

The reasons why Omega vintage watches are good to buy:

1. Value/Investment. They hold their value brilliantly and should actually increase in value over the next few years as they become rarer and rarer. Buying a brand new watch is like a car, as soon as it leaves the premises the prices drops by at least 20%.
2. Stealth Wealth. A leading American news commentator wrote an article regarding "Stealth wealth" - where this watch type is purchased by gentleman who tend to purchase things that are discrete and very sophisticated. Basically a subtle way to show off the exquisiteness of good taste.

Although subtle and understated, at its heart remained a very sturdy accurate sports movement in a unique one-piece case.
